I have two hard drives in my machine. One is a 35 gig drive (the master) and the other is a 3.2 gig drive. I put the 3.2 drive in to hold a clone of the 35 gig drive. Right now it's only holding the clone file which is only 550 megs, so there's roughly 2.5 gig's available on my slave drive. I'm using Win98SE.

My question is should I change the virtual memory settings to use the slave drive for virtual memory instead of the master drive? Would that help improve things in any way? I don't know if the 3.2 gig drive is faster or slower than the 35 gig (anyone know of a freeware or shareware program that will tell me this info?). Let me know what you think. Thanks.

The 35GB HDD will be faster than the 3,2GB HDD since most HDD's today with that capacity comes either UDMA-66 or UDMA-100 and also at faster speeds such as 7,200rpm Vs. 5,400rpm. It may be possible that you're 35GB HDD is 5,400rpm, but the burst speed will be higher than the 3,2GB HDD, I'm sure..

You can download SiSoft Sandra 2001 here to benchmark the two HDD's.
