How do you make rounded cables?
Where can you get the supplies to make them?
Thanks http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Our very own SysOpt has made a guide on rounding cables. Click the link below to view it:

If you do this, I`d would advise getting a few spare cables before you start, just in case it goes wrong!

I did mine with a craft knife and some electrical tape. You don't need all that fancy piping stuff really.

You ca round your cables without cutting them. Go to your local auto parts store, WalMart, or the junk yard and pickup some split wire wrap (1/2" or 3/4"). Fold the cables over and wrap them. Leave about an inch-inch and ahalf open by the connectors. Use black electrical tape to hold the wire wrap closed. Works and looks good http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Plus-no cut cables!

Well, I did cut my cables. I only needed to cut around 2 inches of cable near the connectors (for FFD, and IDE) so I could fold the thing easily.

If you try this, good luck! Make sure you`ve got a nice new SHARP craft knife
and a few hours to do it. DO NOT rush this! It takes a while, but at the end, you will be pleasently suprised!
See ya!

On all my new 80 conductor cables I decided not to split them but instead I went with the window trick. Just sit them in a sunny window they become very foldable. I then added just a few wraps of tape at each end by the connectors and two extra in the long section. Nice and neat and less space that the split wrap I was using.

I just made a small slit near the top and just carefully peeled all the way down. Then I wrapped them up with some electrical tape and it all looks neat now. Didn't wreck a single one either!

I didn't realize there were so many different ways to round cables! I'm gonna have to put some thought into which way would work best for me.
Thanks for all the help. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
Great idea Mykex. I read somewhere where some folks were squaring off their 80 pin cables. By this I mean they would seperate the cable every 10 strands or so, then lay them flat on top of each other, ending up with a square kinda setup.
I was too whimpish to round my ata66 cable, but I was able to fold it over and tape it against the case to improve airflow.
