hi, for some reason my motherboard controls my CPU fan speed. The temperature changes according to cpu temp, which i think is really annoying, how can i test how cool my cpu can get under full load??? I am using a MSI K7T266 Pro motherboard. I can find any settings in the BIOS to switch this off to make the cpu fan run at full speed all the time. Any ideals?
Download Motheboard Monitor (http://www.podien.onlinehome.de/) to monitor temps of your mobo/CPU.
Put this (http://ftp.pcworld.com/pub/new/utilities/system_resources_tune_up/stabilitytest.exe) one on, it will give you absolute 100% CPU load ...

i got a motherboard monitor and Prime95, when i run my cpu temp is 44C, not bad and my RPM is 3000, i know that with my old case RMP was 3199 though, just wondering if you can make the RPM as high as possible.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT QUESTION
i bought a 3-pin to 4-pin Adapter Cable, cause i heard that when you connect a HIGH performance cpu fan to your mobo the mobo socked might get fried after a while cause of high power intacke.
When i connect my fan now with the adapter will it always run at full RPM??????
1. Your temps are just fine.
2. Yes (no need to double-post (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=105004), thou ;) ).

1 ok no more double posting!
mmhhhh with the 4 pin to 3 pin connectors. If i cut the yellow cape of the end of the 3 pin connector from the fan and connect it to the correct pin in my motherboard fan thingy, will it display the RPM? or will the motherboard moan that there is a RPM but no power is taken from it fan connectors???? I have seen a 4 pin to 3 pin connector with a seperate connector so the motherboard still displays the RPM! but couldnt find it in UK, shame

Just read your post:
you can find one of these 4-pin converters that maintain a rpm monitor cable thingy:
3-PIN MOBO 12V + RPM connector

4Pin PSU12V DC RPM cable
.... on www.chillblast.co.uk (or is it www.chillblast.com?)
Anyway, just to tell you you can find it in UK...
If you still can't find it for some reason, contact me and i can perhaps help you out..
