Hi,
I have two computers at home, one is win98 with 3Com NIC, another is a IBM laptop with Intel NIC, I just got a D-Link DI-704p router, when I follow the instructions to connect and install it, I found I couldn't accress any web sites.

I can ping the router's IP. but can't ping any outside IPs. When my DSL modem is connected directly to my NIC everything is fine.

thanks in advance.

Connect the router again. Open a Command (DOS) prompt on each machine and run:

IPCONFIG /RELEASE

and

IPCONFIG /RENEW

That should do it.

Beside what BipolarBill suggested, check your TCP/IP settings under Network, in Control Panel, and verify that TCP/IP is configured to "obtain an IP address" automatically. This will allow the router to assign IP addresses to the pcs (what BPB was having you do by his "Release" and "Renew" commands).
