Creative's website is useless so I thought I'd post here. What are the generations of the live! card? If you look on pricewatch for a live value card you get a plethora of choices. Some have a 256 voice wavetable, some 512, some 1024. Some are marked as a ct4760, some ct4830. They're all in the same general price range. Some are labeled as having S/PDIF in, but not out, some both. How many generations of the live! are there? Can you get an OEM version of the Live! 5.1 or a value version of it or what? That's what I really want. Can someone clarify this mess? Thanks!
Mine's a 256 Live Value(oem) PCI ct4670 with S/PDIF In on the card, and F/R Out, Line/Mic/ Joystick on the back. $75 CDN.

All Live! cards are 1024 voice.
There are several versions of it though:
SB Live......no dolby support
SB Live player 5.1.......dolby 5.1 support
SB Live player 5.1 platinum...includes IR drive panel (fits in 5.25" bay and has loads of inputs/outputs)
Then there is the MP3 version.....not quite sure of the extra features here.

PS if you go to www.soundblaster.com (http://www.soundblaster.com) and use the drop-down menu on the left you can get details of all the range.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure the only difference between x-gamer and mp3 versions are the software bundles. I went to soundblaster.com and though more useful than creative's site, I'm still not convinced all live value cards were created equal. Can anybody confirm that there have been revisions to this card?
