Well, this is the machine that I have and here
* System Summary *

Microsoft Provider for Netware
Microsoft Network

and it is running with I.E. explorer 6. My connection is StarBand and when I test connection I average 500-650 down and 40-70 up. This isn't my problem. What my problem is is this. After I boot the machine up everything works fine, but after I run it for an hour or so it gets real slow. By that I mean that it seems like it takes forever for a page to load. It almost seems like it's a problem with the hardrive as when I first start it I can hear it running real fast(continuous). After a while, it just runs for a brief instant every 3-4 seconds. Even when sitting idle the hardrive does that.

It's a Dell 500mgz Celleron and I don't know what type of HD is in it. I've got Norton Utilities hoping that Disk Dr. or something could figure out the problem. No Luck. I keep the files cleaned and when I reboot, it's good again for awhile.

This only runs slow on explorer or navigator. If I open an application like QuickBooks or Photshop, it seems to run fine. Something with a browser and the files it uses.

Any help??:(

Hello
Go into IE..Tools..Internet options..Temporary Internet files..settings...then lower the amount of disk space to be used as your temp/cache file. I have mine at 1000.
Also from time to time you may want to delete your temporary internet files and cookies. Be sure you remember any passwords and log-in names because some sites will ask you to log-in again after you delete these (the sites that ask you after the first log-in "remember me on this computer"),
All these temp files build up after a while and it takes the computer longer to load pages and files.
good luck and be well

Also you dont have it set to make everything you view available off line. It would cache everythign then.

Anymore suggestions? It seems like there is a leak in the connection to the hd or that it's only allowing tranfer of materiale at certain intervals. I know that sound stupid, but that's the only way I can think to explain.:(
