Scanner software problem.

I have just got a new scanner, and i cant get it to just scan the image, it picks up on the white background aswell.

Im have sat here messing with it for a few hours now, and cant figure out whether its just cannon's **** software.. just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of some descent scanning software..

its a Cannon CanoScan N670U with the generic software.. bla bla.

What's your operating system?
Anyway, uninstall it and reinstall the drivers and restart.
Is your scanner recognized by your system ?

Using Windows 2000. just installed the software today.

it scans fine, but its just it scans the entire page as appose to just selecting the image, like i get a ****load of white in other words.

I meant uninstall the scanner and reinstall it, not the OS !!

I see.. I think that it's a settings issue. Try,when scanning to set settings to the default and scan.

nah dude i ment the software aswell.

yeh its all using default settings, i have been sitting at it for hours and yer ive been through the driver, software etc..

um i havnt formatted since i got my puter man, i use disk imaging :)
