I have an old system (celeron 500) that I wanted to upgrade the video. Which AGP card would you buy from ebay for $30: Voodoo3 2000 16mb or TNT2 ultra 32mb?

What he said:

But seriously, look at it this way: The TNT2 and the Voodoo3 were introduced as direct competitors. The TNT2 Ultra is the top of the TNT2 range, and the Voodoo3 2000 is the bottom of its range.

Score one for the TNT2

32mb of RAM on the TNT2, vs 16mb for the Voodoo3.

Score two for the TNT2

Many games list the TNT2 as the minimum supported card, and do not list the Voodoo3.

Score three for the TNT2

And the biggest reason for getting the TNT2 is that they still make drivers for it.

also,
TNT2 does 32bit color, Voodo only dithers 24bit
Score 4 for TNT2

The Voodoo3 2000 is a great card for performance. Your not going to be doing too many heavy 32bit color games with that machine. Either card will do the job, though.

Yeah, tnt2 has all that , but in the stability department, you have to give the edge to Voodoo. With the exception of recent events, tnt could only dream of the stability that voodoo offers.

It's already was written here :

That's alone should do it. Besides, TNT2 Ultra is faster, even if you don't do 32bit color it would still be faster. And to all Voodoo lovers out there : with all my respect to 3Dfx products, I personally got tired trying to fit some hacked drivers to every new game which is being released and demands DX8/DX8.1 compatibity. Aren't you ?

Last one :
Voodo only dithers 24bit (Grentarc)
It's 22bit dithering.

I opened another thread about below

" just bought an ATI all in wonder 128pro w/32mb. I was thinking of yanking out my voodoo3 2000 & putting in the all in wonder. What kind of performance difference will I notice? I paid 80bucks for the ATI card, is that too much?"

What do you think I should do now?

Yeah I have a ti450. It's sweet. I can get it up to 515mhz memory and 300mhz core. I think it'll go even a little higher but I'm gonna get a blue orb and some ramsinks before I try that or leave at anything above stock.
