How come when ever I buy a brand new CD-RW with 700mb and then I go and formatt it, when it is don't it sais I only have 570MB free. Does the format really take that much space? How come it doesn't do the same with CD-R's?

If you are using packet writing, it takes up approx 120mb+ of space before you can use the disc. What software are you using?
