128MB PC133 for $49.99 after rebate - great deal, but do you think it's dependable RAM? The name ValueRam has me a bit worried. I have a 128MB PC133 Micron stick set aside for my new system I've yet to complete... do you think I should get another 128MB of this ValueRam?

Why not just go genric for less without a rebate wait?

Kingston Technology wouldn't put their name on junk.
However, Lifetime Warranty PC133 128s can be had for as little as $38 + shipping through PriceWatch (http://www.pricewatch.com) . It might be worth a call to find out whose chips are used. Kingston doesn't make their own either.

I recently purchased 2 sticks of the Kingston 128mb PC100 cas2 RAM and had the same feelings when I recieved them and say the name "ValueRam". I have actually been very happy with them, they test out fine and I have been running at cas2 with no problems at all since.
I've only had them a month, so I'm not sure about how depenable they are but Kingston claims a "lifetime warranty" on them.

There is NOTHING wrong with Kingston Value RAM.
I've run it on several machines for over a year without a problem.
Several vendors that do not sell "Generic" No-Name RAM sell Kingston Value-RAM.
I wouldn't hesitate to put it into any customers machine.

I believe RAM is at a 3.5 year all time low. During the last 4 years, you couldn't even buy EDO RAM for cheaper than you can buy PC133 RAM.

Gezz, when did ram prices bottom out like this? I remember a dollar a meg for PC100!
I wonder, could the enterprising individual buy up a hundred sticks of PC133, sit on them and then offer them up for sale in say 6 months? Or would they go even lower? Or COULD they go lower?
I know, different technologies come out all the time, but look at the prices for "older" ram now.
Oh well, I don't have the extra bread to do it now anyway, but I just may pick up a couple of sticks for the new Duron I plan to build this month.
