Howdy everybody,
About the Clear Rounded IDE cables.. the ones with the silver inside lining, does anybody know if they are UV sensitive?
If they arent.. whats my best option? Should I get regular flat IDE cables and round them my self and then put a Natural Color Spiral wrap around them? Or should i Buy the rounded cables and put spiral wrap around them. As the Spiral wrap is UV sensitive.
Also.. if the clear rounded cables are not UV sensitive.. anybody know the best place for ordering the natural color spiral wrap?
Ive heard of Microplastics.com I know they have it.. but i think you have to order from them in bulk.. last i checked i wasnt going to need 50 feet of the stuff
Well I know that the black ones are UV proof as they are cable jackets that must past UL and SA specs, but the clear is tricky as they are just plain PVC and are not intended for wire jackets.

Not trying to be funny here ...but are you planning on taking your system out into the desert to get a tan ???
Why are you worried about UV rays on your cables??
Maybe some SPF 50 might help????? ;)

LOL, Im pretty sure that there was a miscomunication. I WANT them to be UV sensitive. I would like to know if they are going to glow under a black light. If they Do not glow under a black light.. im going to have to figure out some way to get them to glow.

OH , ok !!
Now that is different! No I don't think they glow. I have them in my system and I think they look great. I have a green cold cathode light in mine, they don't shine quite like I thought they would but still they look great. I took a couple dual device cables and cut the short end off and use them to connect my hard drive. My hdd is only a couple inches from my motherboard connectors, so I didn't need the extra cable cluttering up my case. They work perfectly! Currently I have them set up on Raid 0, and took the other end and put a new connector on and used them for my CdRom and cdrw drives. Putting the new connector on and getting it to work....TOUGH!!! Not an easy task by no means. I contacted several companies why no one make short IDE cables and seems no one is interested in them. I told them I couldn't be the only person wanting short cables and this would be a good market niche. Anyway if you need short cables, just cut the shrot end off. Simple and it works.
Good Luck.;)

ST,
Something else I have seen is watercooling .People put clear tube for the cooling lines and fill the coolant with some kind of colored liquid that looks like it glows. Something to think about.
