Jammer plus Tauscan. Had to pay for them, but they are doing a good job. (so far)

I have used the free version of ZoneAlarm for quite some time now. BTW, the version is 2.6.362.
I tried out some of the others but found ZA the easiest to use. And did I mention it's free.

Do I really need one? I've had to disable the firewall built into XP so that VPN will work.

Previously I used AtGuard (the pre-Norton and non-bloatware version of Norton Firewall), but now use the latest free version of Zone Alarm 'cos I was told there were a few hole in AtGuard and also was having some win2k compatibility probs...

edit: that's on a my BT ADSL router and through a variety of network cards (DEC/Intel 10/100tx & a few 3com 10/100tx's & the onboard Intel 10/100tx on my laptop) - not that this last bit makes any real difference to firewall security etc...

Linksys BEFSR11.
Very happy with this product, though it tends to crash when traffic gets heavy...

Outpost, also free to home users, blocks ads, stealth mode, and keeps a decent log of any attacks for later scrutiny,
I used to use zonealarm, but it is too easily bypassed thru permitted programs, with Outpost you can set three different levels of trust, and it sets itself up without those annoying prompts every 2 minutes ( should you let "this" access the net, should you let "that" access...etc), allow something once and that's it.
WOW! I sound just like the guy that tried to sell me some carpets the other day. :D

Get ur copy here (http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/)!

ZoneAlarm (free)
Will pass every test I have found on the internet.

I use it on both of my computers. I'm also behind my Linksys BEFSR41 router but used ZoneAlarm long before I had a router. :)
