Anyone using AIM 4.3?

Has anyone tried out the PC -> Phone LD feature on it yet? Does it work?

I use Netscape IM, just so I don't have to see it say AOL when it starts up. Haven't tried the voice over IP feature yet.

My wife an I tried it out a few months ago. It works fairly well but the sound quality wasn't as good as I had hoped for. I wasn't using a head set so that might have had something to do with it. I got a little bit of a echo from the built in microphone on the Compaq monitor and the desktop speakers. It does work but don't expect phone like quality.

are we talking about the Long Distance here? Or the voice chat? LD = long distance, no ? If it's the LD, it's $0.04 cents per minute, which is comparable to Dialpad.com's international rate (free for US calls).

Voice chat thru AOLIM requires a bit of patience. Let's just say it's not the quickest way to have a conversation.

for the voice chat that aim comes with thats free the quality alos depends on the connection type. i would talk on it and it would be clear as heck and otehr days it will be distorted
