Circuit City has these Hi-Val 4x4x24 or something like that for $109.00 and a $20 suckerbait too.

I need one to bundle with a cheap system, don't want to stick the dude with a dud http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey Doc. I did a search on http://www.deja.com and came up with this:

I have a hi-val 2224 ( I think that is the model) it is really a JVC WD-2080. I have been very happy with it. I have had to upgrade the firmware a couple of times. I use NERO with mine. No real problems with the hardware, good tech support in the beginning from hival. Lots of learning involved with successfully burning exact copies and building your own CD's. Lots of fun......

However, a little more digging turned up a few people who claim Hi Val was going out of business. I paid a visit to http://www.hival.com but nothing looks amiss there...strange.

BTW, I just did a search for "hi val" on Deja. Looks like a bit more digging may be in order. Best of luck!

My first burner was a Hi-Val, but it was actually made by Mitsumi. It still works great.
