erm..... not that New=Good

New may mean pretty, but that's just a bounus. IMO Streets of Rage 2 on the Sega Megadrive/Genessis is the greatest game ever produced (2 player esp)

Well, Quake II was a great game when it first came out. However, the popularity did not last long as counter-strike did. I guess people now like something to be more realistic. Return to castlewolfstein and MOHAA are also not "unreal" as Quake and Unreal Tournament. Well, maybe people just like thing that is close to real life, but of course will rare happen to daily life. Grand Thief Auto III was a good example.

Back to Quake two, I was to poor to get a good performance machine back when then this game was popular. When I got my new gear, games with better graphics came out, and I started to play them. I may still give Quake II a shot though. It was really a hit back in........dark age. Quake III never made as popular as Quake II

I totally agree with "new !=(not equal) good". Back to the 80s, Contra on Nintendo was one of the greatest game ever releaesd. I played it last month, using simulator, of course.

i really didn't like Quake 2. First off i was kinda dissapointed at the ending. Has anyone went down that cave in the end and saw that big monster with the 2 gi... well if you seen this tell me if u thought it was fuuny! (don't what to spoil this for the kiddies:D ) now back to the real plot. i was dissapointed. Now maybe if i got Quake 1&3 i would understand it but i didn't like it.Also from what i thought it was gonna be origanal. Oraiganl like Dues Ex or Red faction well that's my opioion

Can't say I ever loaded the single player side of it to be hounest.

I just love the balance of The DM.... in most other games people tend to do well by knowing 'dirty tricks'. Q2 forces the pure skill side out of it. Which is a bad thing for me ;-)

Oh yeah..... I couln't run it at all when it first came out (think I had a 486 DX100). The first time I played it proper was after Q3 had been out a while.

sp sucks, but the mp is godlike, it's well balanced, highly skill based (unlike doom2), and has some great weapons without making them beardy.

It's currently game of the moment for our school gaming sessions (when the teachers aren't looking :D)

I think you mean Quake 2 is an old game. It was ok for me. But I wish that Quake 3 also had a single player mode.
