I am unable to use my mic!! The connections seem to be alright....headset is directly connected to the soudcard. I have checked up all of the windows setting as well as the Creative AudioHQ software. Yeah by the way its a Creative Soudn Blaster Live sound card running of a ASUS A7V mobo.. I did have problems earlier with the soudn card as far as free reources were concered..but after installing the latest drivers for the sound card that seems to be ok....

I have given up trying to figure out what the trouble might be...grateful if someone coudl help me out..

Thnks

I had a problem with MIC using Sound Blaster Live Platinum until I found out the reason why....

First Thing To Check

First of all, are You plugging the MIC in through the front or the back? If you are plugging the MIC in the front in the module that comes with the Sound Blaster Live Platinum, you will need to enable MIC-2, not MIC-1. MIC-1 is for the rear input through the soundcard itself and MIC-2 is for the front connection through the Sound Blaster Bay module..

Second Thing To Check

Rather than accessing the Record Control from your Sound Blaster Live Software, try setting the MIC to enable through Windows Recording Properties in Volume Control. As I mentioned above, enable the MIC according to where the MIC is plugged into... Front or Back.

Have you tried the second thing that I suggested? Accessing the control through Windows Volume Control / Record Properties?
