This is weird. Just updated my bios to the latest version and went in to set my FSB/vcore settings and they have no effect whatsoever!

The CPU Host/PCI Clock setting can go anywhere from 90/30mhz - 130/32mhz (some mhz reading are higher in the middle). But, if I increase my CPU Host/PCI Clock shouldn't that give me a little CPU boost?

Also, same with my Core Voltage setting: my default is 1.66v and I can set it all the way to 2.66v down to .66v by .25v increments. Wish I could enter the values myself instead of .25v increments.

Anybody know why this has no effect on my cpu speed?

Thanks in advance,
JF

First thing you need to do in order to get a meaningful answer is supply us with your motherboard information.

Just off the top of my head I have to ask if you had these settings before the new BIOOS and did they work then? If so, you may want to flash back to your old BIOS. It may also be that there is a jumper or dip switch that must be set on the motherboard in order to control these settings from BIOS. But as you can see it is really just guessing without more information.

Have a happy New Year,

Maranatha!

JF ~ Just a thought for the future.

You have multiple threads scattered around concerning your efforts. You told us what board you have in one of them, but we can't keep track of every thread and connect them in our heads.

So, from now on, just keep things together in one thread in the appropriate forum and answer back and forth as you proceed. That way your single problem will get the best arsenal of possible answers.

Good Luck, I hope you find the solution.
