I believe that can be some help in deleting it. Also, try email Norton technical support to see if they can help you eliminate the virus. Write down where the Trojan is located (ex: C:/Windows/system), the names of the infected files, and the name of the Trojan. dodsimz 04-21-2002, 12:26 PM Norton detected it but did not delete it, It says object virus infected found in: C:\Documents and Settings\******\Local Settings\Temp\gdg1\index.htm Trojan Horse and it has dones some things lately it has reconfigured my bios, so my comp is hella slower and it has done some minor tthings. *******stands for my user name (which is my real name and i dont want to leak out). thanx anyways tycoonist 04-21-2002, 12:33 PM For starters, but hit the "post reply" button on the bottom of the page to reply, instead of creating a new thread. The first thing you should do is turn your computer off and unplug it from the Internet. This will stop the hackers from doing anything to your system. Read this article about trojans: http://neworder.box.sk/tomread.php?newsid=2870#trojans Click on the Trojans part. They will have more info to help you. Finally, email the technical support people to help you out. You might have to download a cleaner program to delete it. bassman 04-21-2002, 03:41 PM If you do have a trojan in your system, it should be located in the sections HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices of the Registry. Search them for anything suspicious or unusual and delete it. Be very careful not to delete something important! This action will stop the trojan from loading itself to the memory each time you start your computer. Next, find out what trojan it is and grab a dedicated deletion tool from any AV software house, like NAI or Panda; this tool fixes only the trojan you have and should work perfectly. PS: If you don't know what to delete on your Registry, post the keys that are under the sections stated above and we'll tell you. JDT 04-21-2002, 03:48 PM You can pick up a free anti trojan program here.... http://www.wilders.org/free_tools.htm It always good to run one along with your AV program. Mafiosy 04-21-2002, 07:33 PM How do you know u have a trojan. How did you find out? May be you're overreacting. First explain!! Whats exactly is happening, what system you're on and what did you do that it happened. Maf. kazuza 04-22-2002, 04:56 PM Do NOT try to delete a Trojan horse from Windows! Use the EMERGENCY BOOT DISKS... From Windows, the only option (sometimes) possible, is to delete it. From DOS, you can repair it... dodsimz 04-22-2002, 09:20 PM hey i downloaded the many good anit trojan virus scanners, and it picked up a trojan and fixed it, now my comp it normal.. thanx for help SysOpt.com
