This is strange. If I print straight from MS Imaging or "print screen", all the colors show up fairly good...it has a slight cast, but not too bad. However, when I print from Qimage or PhotoDeluxe, I get this consistant bluish-green cast throughout the photo. I've checked the settings on Qimage and the Canon S600 and they seem to be ok, and also adjusted color levels on the settings screen, but didn't seem to help with these two apps.
I've run the clean process/nozzle check on the printer so many times I'll have to order more ink. It still may be a printhead problem, but I'm running out of ideas. I did load up with third-party ink, but there doesn't seem to be much of a clog problem according to the nozzle check, but what do I know. No sense in even contacting Canon because of the "other" ink. Anyone have any other ideas?

Did it print correctly when the ink cartridge was new, with HP ink in it?...if so, then be aware that not all 3rd party inks are good quality. I also refill mine and have recieved some elcheapo ink that didn't give me a good color. All inks are formulated to specific ingredients when it is made. "Red" may not actually be red to all printers, ect.
What OS are you using?...are the printer drivers the correct ones for the OS you are using?...of course, this question will go back to my first question concerning 3rd party ink quality.

This was the first cartridge change I made since I got it new...and stuck in some el cheapos. Gotta be the ink, since it worked perfectly before, and it's a Canon...not HP. I'm running WinMe and the drivers have been the same since installed. I bought a couple of Canon tanks this morning...maybe that'll cure some of my ills.

Nevermind....I got it. Changed ink and I'm back on track. Like to find Canon inks about half of what their charging for them, though.

Good, glad you got it going. I ment Cannon actually, just used to typing HP cuz so many HP problems here at the forum.
Look around, there are places that have inks formulated that are supposed to be the same as or better than the ink that comes from the factory.
Here is one place I have ordered from, and the ink was good quality.

Here's a place a few have sworn by lately and they say excellent ink:

I like the prices here too, but the one thing I'm scared to death of is screwing up that printhead. I know I'm gonna keep on being cheap and ruin that printhead....which I hear is around $40-50.
I need to find where they sell those printheads. Checked on Canon's site and couldn't find anything. Thanks, Jim.

Get the ICC color profile for your printer!

I probably can't afford it. I know these places charge phenominal rates for these ICC profiles. Got a do-it-yourself profiler, but haven't learned how to use it yet.
Besides, the monitor has to be calibrated also. I've tried that already(white point/black point) and my monitor looked like ****...so I put it back the way it was. As for the printer, I don't see too much wrong with the driver's-supplied standard profile.

Can't be!
ICC color profiles are small files containing data on how to aply color definitions for the graphics board to the monitor.
Place your monitor's description and I will look for that files for you.

Ok. I've got a Dell 19" M991 with nVidia TNT2-M64 board. If you can help out that would be great...or point me in the right direction. I was over at Dpreview.com, and all they talk about is ICC profiles and how you have to have Monaco or whatever in order to accomplish the scanner/monitor/printer color workflow. As I recall, you can set up a profile for each type of paper you use. To tell you the truth, I read alot on it and I am still just as confused. That stuff is pretty deep. Thanks, Jim.

Try this:
http://support.dell.com/us/en/register.asp?redirect=yes&segid=5DS
It's the home page for support of your product.
No where else I could find the ICC profile for your monitor.
You'll only need to enter the info as requested, and technical support and download will be granted to you for free (regarding to your product).
Sorry I couldn't have done better. I'm having problems with my downloads!!!
