I have an SB Audigy Gamer, 512 meg RAM, 1.3ghz VIA board, Casio digital Keyboard, and Cakewalk Music Creator 2002. Win XP...latest drivers for all.. The problem....
Using ANY MIDI recording program..(Cakewalk, Sonic...etc.) I will record my MIDI using my Casio...and when I play it back..alot of the notes I played are jumbled into the first half a second of music...then the track plays on with silence...then another jumble. I tried playing for 10 minutes straight while recording..and all the notes I played are jumbled into one big mess.
Heres what I tried to solve this so far:
-Tried using my Casio on another computer with XP..Cakewalk..same soundfonts..but with a SB Live! card. The keyboard cables work fine as I was able to record great.
-Updated all my drivers for EVERYTHING that has to do with sound/MIDI-gameport-In..etc..
-Uninstalled Cakewalk, reinstalled....
-Uninstalled SB drivers..reinstalled..Drivers are from Jan, 2002
-rolled back my MIDI/Gameport-In drivers..
-Tried using the "virtual keyboard" that came with Audigy..Cant get it to record at all.
-Switched the Audigy to another PCI slot internally, checked that the MIDI/Gameport connection was hooked up right..
-e-mailed Creatve and Cakewalk on the problem...
--Creative said: "MAke sure your MIDI cables are functioning"
--Cakewalk said..."XP doesnt like Audigy..and Audigy doesnt like Cakewalk.."
Im completely stumped on this. If anyone can help Ill be greatful. Thx

I think this is the answer. They are telling you it won't work.

If cake walk was not in the formula, it still might not work, if XP was not in the formula, it still might not work.

Looks like the best thing would be to try and find an alternative program.

I already did try other programs besides cakewalk..like soundforge...Sonic factory...even MTV music maker....all of them do the same thing...Someone said something about adjusting my latency settings for my PCI in my BIOS.....not sure what to adjust it to...

I have heard this sort of solution, but it was for a different board. I do not know how this would be done. If there is a forum for your board, I would try to look around there. Maybe some one will come along who knows how to go about this.
