OK, heres the run-down of my computer

533mhz celeron pr. Florida-TG/TGA Micro ATX (ATX V1.2 form factor) motherboard, TriGem, Korea Intel Socket-370 (370pin PPGA Socket) for Intel Celeron CPUs Intel 440LX core and ITE8673 Super I/O controller and the BIOS is American Megatrends 1999, have a mini emachine case, 120watt fan, cd-rom, a-drive, 32mb SDR ati radeon video card, network card, winXP

I talked with emachines and he said I could change the motherboard and chip as long as its a socket 370 with 66mhz bus

He says theres no way to change the bus speed, could someone
explain this to me?

Most motherboards that I found have 100mhz speed bus, Im looking for 1G-1.2G celeron pr. to run in the motherboard.

I need Help :confused:

Most if not all of the after market replacement boards will auto recognize the cpu and set it self up for it.
With your emachine. What he was telling you is it won't run up to the cpu you want. You need to switch boards for the faster cpu.
You can use your cpu with the new board. Then later on switch to the faster one. Make sure you upgrade the memory. The 66 mhz memory you have won't work on a faster cpu probably.

Also emachine is noted for using slow hard drives. Think about replacing it also.

OK, so the bus speed is on the Motherboard? So....if I replace
the motherboard and chip, like for example,

Intel(R) Celeron(R) Processor 1.20GHz, 100MHz FSB, 256KB Cache

and a motherboard

Intel D815EFVLU i815E PIII(Tualatin)/Celer. Skt 370 M-ATX Motherboard w/Audio, Video, LAN Retail
133FSB, ATA/100, AGP 4X, 3DIMM, 3PCI, 4USB, Audio, Video, LAN

then that would work?

If so, could someone give me an idea on what kind of motherboard should get?

The bus speed is set by the make of the CPU. The board just adjusts it self to the speed the processor tells it to.
Intel makes good stable boards. You can not overclock one. If you would think of doing that later on.
The 1.2 series celey is based on the tualatin core. So the main thing you want to look at in a main board. Is to make sure it supports the tulatin cpu. It has different voltage from the regular P3. So the board has to support it.
