Just got a new scanner for Christmas.
Compaq s4 100 - 42 bit -600 x 1200dpi. Got this software with it "Vistascan". IT SUCKS! I'm looking for a more user "friendly" software. Any suggestions?? Prefer a "FREE" or cheap one.

Thanks

Sorry, no go on that one. You will have to use the program that comes with your scanner. All scanners come specifically with a software that works with the manufacturer's scanner. No matter what method you use to scan, TWAIN32 in Photoshop or any other graphic applications, you will see the same scanner software load...

Not so sure about that one NDC. I have a cannon scanner and I use software that didn't come with it. Unfortunatly for Jap03 the stuff I use isn't cheap.

What is the name of the program, if I may ask? And what is the scanner that you're using that with?

Does this software support all scanners that are out on the market now or does it have its limits?

Try PaperPort, Office Depot here has it marked down to $26.00 or so.

In M$ PhotoDraw you can choose to scan with or without the scanner's software, although I find Vistascan performs better and is faster than just using PhotoDraw.

Any widespread program that is designed for TWAIN32 should work just fine.
