The new ddr ram mother boards are coming out for the amd t-birds.

How does ddr ram work?

I know what stand for but is it like having double the ram or is just that ram is more effiecent and faster? Will the system run faster as if you had 256 ram when you only have 128 of ddr ram?

Double Data Rate means just that. It's faster. It won't let an "older" system think it has twice as much RAM.

It activates output on both the rising and falling edge of the system clock rather than on just the rising edge, potentially doubling output. ~ WhatIs.com

DOES THAT JUSTIFY THE PRICE OF IT. OR ?

HAS ANY ONE SEEN ANY TEST OF DDR RAM WHEN USED IN A MOTHER BOARD? ANY NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE.

It depends on what apps you are running. If your just running Microsoft Word, you won't notice any difference. If your rendering very large images, ex., then yes you will notice somewhere between 5-15% speed increase. http://www.tomshardware.com has a nice review on a DDR motherboard.

Not much to add to Munglas' post. DDR systems were tested and basically showed 5-12% increase in overall system performance. For how it appears now, DDR memory price is too high to plan building DDR systems in near (3-5 months) future ...
