My mom's taking her Toshiba satellite laptop overseas to Phnom Penh. Any recommendations on power supply, surge protectors, and cheap ISPs? General advice is welcome too. She'll be gone for 3 years...

She'll be gone for 3 years... thx. dos7 12-29-2000, 03:53 PM Hello there,,i can't recommend any particular ISP's,,but Cambodia uses both 120v/220v single phase at 50hz, electricity in Cambodia IS UNSTABLE. She will need a switching power supply for her laptop or a stepdown transformer (noisy),surge protectors are always a good idea for the power as well as the phone, because of the instability of the cambodian power grid and telephone network. She will probably needs a couple types of adapters, one to the power outlet and one for the telephone line/modem, an excellent place for obtaining these items online is http://www.walkabouttravelgear.com i wish her luck on her journey and tell her not to leave phnom pehn unless she absolutely must, cambodia can be a very dangerous country. dos7 SysOpt.com
