My mom's taking her Toshiba satellite laptop overseas to Phnom Penh. Any recommendations on power supply, surge protectors, and cheap ISPs? General advice is welcome too. She'll be gone for 3 years...
thx.

Hello there,,i can't recommend any particular ISP's,,but Cambodia uses both 120v/220v single phase at 50hz, electricity in Cambodia IS UNSTABLE. She will need a switching power supply for her laptop or a stepdown transformer (noisy),surge protectors are always a good idea for the power as well as the phone, because of the instability of the cambodian power grid and telephone network.

She will probably needs a couple types of adapters, one to the power outlet and one for the telephone line/modem, an excellent place for obtaining these items online is

i wish her luck on her journey and tell her not to leave phnom pehn unless she absolutely must, cambodia can be a very dangerous country.
