I'm currently using an old S3 sonicvibes sound card and a pair of desktop speakers. I was going to upgrade to a live 5.1, but I just ran across a good deal and bought a CSW Desktop Theater 5.1 speaker set that comes with a Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding amp. Now, will I get true 5.1 surround with that speaker set if I still use the S3 sonicvibes? Is there some way to get the digital output signal from my DVD drive (Toshiba-1212 6x/32x)? I still want to upgrade my sound card because of other reasons, but do I need an Live 5.1 or could I get by with a cheaper Live value? Thanks!
