is it possible to upgrade a laptops video card? Where can I get more information on this (and other upgrade issues regarding laptops.)

Most all laptops have a video chip integrated on the motherboard, not a separate video card. And even if the CPU can be upgraded, it is the more expensive mobile (low-power consumption) version. Hard drives are also a special 2.5-inch size.

Go to the manufacturer's website for available upgrades.

Yeah, thats probably your best shot. Theres a few articles on Tom's site www.tomshardware.com about Laptop video cards, if you are confident in your skillZ, then try to remove the keyboard section of your laptop and that might give you a clue.
