I am having a hard time deciding on what new mobo I should get.
Right now, I am running a PCChips 810LMR SiS 730s board, and I want to get a board with more PCI slots.
There are two boards that I will be spending $140 (CDN) on.
One is the MSI K7T Turbo2, the other one is an ECS K7S5A.
The MSI board only has SDRAM, but can take more then the ECS K7S5A. The K7S5A has DDR capability, but only up to 1GB.
I am currently running an Athlon 900 as well.
I prefer the Award BIOS of the Turbo2 over the AMI of the K7S5A just due to preference and features, however I should be getting a DDR board because of the lack of performance in SDRAM.
I also want to get a stable board that won't c*ap out over a 6 month period, I have had heard 50%/50% bad and good on the K7S5A.

Just wanted to know your guys's 2 cents.
Thanks for your comments.

Instead of the Turbo board, I'd go with the MSI K7T266 Pro2 RU, or even just the plain Pro2.

I've been running the Turbo2 board with for about a year with no problems whatsoever. Currently running an Athlon 1.4GHz TBird 266Mhz FSB and 1.0Gb of PC133 CL2 Crucial RAM.

I also have the MSI K7T 266 Pro2 board waiting in the wings for a swap out. But, I'm having such good luck with the Turbo2 board that I'm in no hurry to swap it out, even though I would gain the DDR capability.

If you want to stick with SDRAM, go with the Turbo2. It's a kickass board, albeit older technology. If you want DDR, then go with the K7T 266 Pro2 board.

Them's my .035 cents. :D
