Recently my hardrive went bad it would not read windows, but i could still veiw the files via dos, well instead of just buying a new hardrive, i spent about 650 bux and bought a totally new system

40gig 5200rpm maxtor hd
soyo sy-k7v dragon mobo
256mb ddr ram
pny geforce 3 ti200
sb live 5.1

my problem is there are alot of files and applications on my old hardrive, i needed to know if there was a way i could pull them off of my corrupted hardrive using a Raid setup via my mobo, and also can i view my old registry (i need cd key number off my old hd to), if there is or if its possible please let me know , this would really save me alot of time and money.

Thanks in advance

If you can get to "Dos" you can do "regedit" at the dos prompt. And look at the registry.
