PCI geforce2 mx400

Im trying to install the card on a old dual mb with a p2300 . It wont boot .Then i put it in with a 8mb ati card and use the ati 8mb card as the main and then install the geforce2 and it will boot and i can get in the display properties and get to the geforce with the dual monitor feature and can play games thur the geforce .How do i run this card right any info whould help .

um.. sounds like your gf doesnt do 2d?? my old geforce2 covered both 2d and 3d i think anyway. but i think any motherboard should have built in generic 2d or is it windows thats capable of producing software driven 2d.. yeah thats the one, years ago when i was at college this guy came in with a computer mag an a massive article about as well as new pc's coming with a massive 8 meg of system ram they were also gonna feature vram!...
um..maybe the 2d's been somehow disabled?

did u select initial bootup device as PCi in the Bios?
