About to pull out my hair, any ideas? What PCI slot it it on? PCI 1 is closest to AGP slot, PCI 5(or 6) is the furthest away from AGP... moejoe 04-08-2002, 08:42 PM It's been in all 5 slots. I know that 1 and 5 use the same master bus. I satrted with it in slot 3 then moved it around. PS. yes i have flashed board so its up to date. Rugor 04-08-2002, 11:13 PM Do you have another system you can try the card in? Also have you got other cards to work in the same board? You've probably tried both, but it never hurts to ask. moejoe 04-09-2002, 12:57 AM Card is fine in another system. But i dont have another live card to try in this system only an old isa SB. Thx Anyway. Rugor 04-09-2002, 02:28 AM I actually meant any other PCI cards at all. Best advice I can give at this point is see if the maker's knowledge base has any info. moejoe 04-09-2002, 03:01 AM Yes I have a pci lan card that works fine in it. Sorry about misunderstanding. jrbtorcan 04-09-2002, 04:41 AM This is my personal experience: I had an Asus motherboard CUSL2+P3-933Mhz+SB Audigy+ATI Rage Fury Pro+256MB memory+Maxtor 40GIG. Everything worked fine. After I sold the MB+P3-933Mhz+256MB+ATI, I upgraded to Asus P4B266+P4-1.8aGhz+256MB+ATI Raedon 8500 (all done by 20-MAR-2002). After installing WIN98SE the SB software would install but there was no sound and in testing it there was a message that the card was not there. With 12 different tries I unistalled the ATI Raedon and put an ATI Expert 128 I had as a backup. The SB was recognized inmediately. Then I reinstalled the ATI Raedon and the new system worked!!! Even Creative and ATI support couldn't understand it! One thing that Creative told me was that I should put the SB in a PCI slot that is not shared, in my case: slot 2 or 6. I hope this helps you. GOOD LUCK! SysOpt.com
