Hello
I own a soyo sy5ema mobo and I cannot use the wake on lan function.
I have tried all the bios versions available (from 1ca1 and later) but it did not work. Anyone knows where I can find older versions eg. 1aa4 (soyo tech support says that the wol function was removed from the bios on later versions)
Thanks!

Welcome to SysOpt!

Before you go wacky on this WOL thing, you should know that you need a fancy management-type NIC on the other end in order to wake the 5EMA. You can't do it with a simple NIC.

I know that!
My lan adapter is compex re10/100 wol
I found two bios versions (1ba1 and 1bb1) that support modem\lan resume, but i still cannot wake up the mobo!!!

Oh you do. What type of NIC do you have on the server? Intel? 3Com?

Thanks for your help!
The bios version that works is 1bd1 for 5ema!
The mobo now wakes up from any terminal on the network!
The adapters on the other pc's are compex re 10/100 wol and micronet sp2080!
All the later bios versions for the 5ema DO NOT support wol!!
Thanks!
