I have a friend who has a lot of records and tapes and wants to put those in his computer. Is there equipment that you can buy or some other way to connect the stereo equipment to the computer?

OuTpaTienT 12-26-2000, 08:40 AM You can connect a stereo's 'line out' or 'tape out' to the sound card in the computer. The sound card should have a 'line in'. All you might need is a cord and/or adapter to go from the stereo's RCA jacks to the mini-headphones type jack on the sound card. Biff 12-26-2000, 02:56 PM I got a tape player hooked up exactly the way OuTpaTienT described and it works fine. My soundcard comes with a number of appz to record with, Sound Forge works good and supports lots of formats. You would record as a wav file then compress to MP3, winamp is a shareware program that would do that. Myself I like MusicMatch Jukebox.
