Sorry for the double post (video)
I am installing a Cel II 566 FC, and I am seeing light between the core and the heatsink at the corners. Is this normal for the FC core ? Are these FC cores perfectly
flat on the corners or are they a bit rounded. ? I have a very light layer of heat transfer silicon on it. Maybe I should lay it on a bit thicker ?
Thanks for any advice.

There's not much going on at the corners, heat wise, but a little more goo can't hurt. Squeeze the parts together as tightly as possible, either way.

Of course there's lapping. Surfaces polished to mirror-like flatness still benefit from micro-fine HS compound. Arctic Silver is one of the best.

Do not lap your fc-pga chip though. There is nothing to lap. It is all processor there and could be the loss of a cpu if you lap it. You can lap your heat sink to make sure it is flat though. That may help.

**I am not responsible for any mistake you make**

You can lap an fc-pga chip, get 1500 grit sandpaper andvery, very gently lap off the lettering, it allows for better heat transfer as the ink does not conduct heat well.
