Those things are practically freebies. I got two sitting doing nothing for the last 5 years. Shipping costs kill you. Also, the old ones, like mine, don't have drivers under windows. Last time i called, they wanted twenty bucks for a driver.
Also DOS character sets are not standard in Windows...

How much $$ are you looking to spend for a DM printer?

What type of dot matrix are you looking for, the older 8-pin or the newer 24-pin??
And what OS are you running on your PC?

Windows DOES have drivers for some dot matrix printers!
My Dad uses both a narrow carriage NEC5200 and a OLD Toshiba 321SL that are running just fine under Windows ME/98SE!

Under Win-XP you are going to have trbl alright, but under earlier OSes you can have most DM prntrs emulate another brand that Windows has the drivers for.
