Hello
I have a WinTV-PVR. Worked great under 98. Now with XP, it has distortion down the middle of the picture. Changing from 32 to 16bit color helps, but it's still nogt perfect.
If you have a TV card under XP, can you share any problems or if everything is fine. Also, what card. Thanks, Pack'nHeat

Are you using the drivers that XP installs, or did you install the manufacturer's drivers?
I have the Hauppauge PCI TV/Stereo Video Capture card, and didn't have any problems with it after using the drivers from Hauppauge.

My Dell 8200, W-XP, came with a 64MB NIVIDA GeForce2 MX Graphics Card with TV-Out.

Works perfect, using drivers that came with it.

My "plain jane" WinTV card works better under XP than is ever has. It's faster, smoother and less grainy than even ME.

If I so much as think about installing the MS drivers, I get "issues". The Hauppauge drivers are the best to use.

I used Hauppauge directions found here -> http://www.hauppauge.com/html/sw_pvr_pci.htm#2000

As seen below, its a vertical strip from top to bottom that goes crazy when any motion happens in that space. If nothing moves in that area, no crazy blur. The bigger I have the picture the worst it is. I called Hauppauge, and they said, "umm..."

Do you run it at 32bit color? Mine looks like this. (help!):

Hmmm....do you think that the card is causing that glazed look in Hulk Hogan's eyes? Nah...it's the Geritol. :p

That some seriously messed up image there! Is it on all channels?

It can only be one of two things - hardware or software. Go to Device Manager and find the Hauppauge video driver in Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Update the driver and select (i'm not home - sorry) Known location and Don't search. See if you're using the MS driver. If so, change to the Hauppauge one.

I went there, and I thought of the 2 chooses I would see a native driver. It says, "...not digitally signed!" so I assume they're the newer ones.

I would choose the second, unsigned driver.
