Hi there, this is my first post!I have a ricoh mp6200s cdr/rw drive and can no longer burn any cds. When I insert a brand new blank cd and click on my computer and then the cd letter it always displays used 128 kbs for some reason! When I try to burn a cd using nero or adaptec it displays the message this cd cannot be writen to.However the cd drive still reads original cds just fine.Has my cd drive died or have I changed something on the pc and not realised?I have tried different brands of media to no avail.please help!!!
Thanks for replies in advance!Merry Xmas!

Looks like you changed something. What apps were you using when this started happening? Are you the only one using the PC? When you put in a new blank CD is it an R or RW?

Have you tried uninstalling it? Delete it from the device manager, uninstall the files using add/remove programs -unplug the drive, then make sure everything is running OK before you reinstall. When you have reinstalled, put in your drivers and rebooted, I would first make sure "DMA" and "Disconnect" is unchecked in device manager, CR-rom properties/settings.
Do you have more than one CD burner program?
If all of this won't work, let us know...
