I just set up my new system & I want to make sure that these stats are acceptable.

My system:
Asus A7V266-E
Athlon 1800
Thermaltake Volcano 7+

My CPU Temp is 45 deg C
My mobo temp is 20 deg C
My CPU fan rpm is 2518

How does this sound?

Looks O.K. for an Athlon, as far as I know.I have Intel Celeron.My CPU temp is lower 30 Celsius,that's @ 85 fahrenheit.The Chipset is 26 or @80 F.
So your board temp is great. And the CPU I think is O.K.

Your fan rpm is low, mine 4500.But yours I hope should speed up as needed.Do you know the stats on your fan rpm range, and is it auto adjusting?

And is the case off or on?
..Hope you have plenty of fans if its off!

The temp of Athlons is way higher anyway.I don't think you should be concerned unless it gets over 55C,(I think).

..I've been running 8 hours with minimal cpu load, browsing here at Sysopt. If you run games, etc. high intensity stuff, your load will go up a lot and the chip will heat up.
So you might want to take it easy until you figure it out.
Take and keep the case cover off for now.Until an AMD guy comes by and can tell you!

My cpu fan has a low, medium, & high setting. I just checked the website & the low speed is 3000, so I guess it's ok as it is.

I have 4 case fans (2 in & 2 out). I don't have any of them plugged into the mobo so I can't monitor their RPMs. I can't find a lead from my power supply to plug into the mobo, but I think the PS has its own built in sensor (I have an antec 1040 w/ 400 watt.

Thanks for the reply.

I did some research on this recently.

I would say below 55c is desirable, but you can run them hotter than that and still be safe - it may be detrimental to its life span though the hotter you run it.

I was running at 60/40 and im now on 46-50max/28-33max - which I regard as fine from what I've enquired with people on here and people I know who are hardware engineers in London.

I picked up some decent web material. posted below.

that volcano 7 heatsink is a real monster!

I let my computer run all night.
Here's the info after ~10 hours:

CPU Temp is 48 deg C
mobo temp is 22 deg C
CPU fan rpm is 2973

I have to assume that this means I installed the heatsink/fan correctly? lol
