hey, i've been inspired by this new fanbus trend.. and i have a question on how to go about a new project i've been pondering.

To sum it up, i'm rather bored of the idea of just using fanbus toggles as on/off switches, it's cheaper to just pull the plugs. I'm wondering how to make a [adjustable] thermostat control to monitor case temperature to be used in this sense:

Up - Fans On
Middle - Thermostat Controlled
Down - Fans/Thermostat Disabled

Maybe later on I might integrate a water cooling system into this.. so do any of you guys have any idea how to plug a thermostat in to the equation? The purpose of this whole project is to lessen the noise of my box, save energy, and of course make my system look bad *** http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I'm thinking of modifying a 5.25" drive plate to fit an LED, LCD temp display, and toggle switch.

I have an lcd monitoring unit, it will monitor the temp and speed of four fans, there are adjustable presets to switch fans on/off at a given temp, and alarms to show over temp and fan fail.
I paid £10 UK from a computer fair, but I have seen it on one of the overclocking sites, at a ridiculous $60 plus dollars, but I am sure you can do better than that.
