Hi all,

I am looking for a fast baby AT motherboard. Is there such a thing as P4 on a baby-AT? or something comparable AMD motherboard. My current and aging system is in a full tower case with 7 device bays occupied and I dont want to switch to ATX if I can help it. That why I hope to find a baby-At P4 m-board. It got to have at least 5 expansion slots too. Is there such an animal? Or am I limited to ATX for good?

TIA.

Ken

If you have a full tower case, then why would you try to limit yourself with a baby AT motherboard instead of an ATX?

The ATX would easily fit in the case and you can replace the power supply with a new ATX one for $20.

join my great search for one! Some people have posted some very good links on the first page. There was one that supported socket A - Athlon/Duron

That would have been perfect for my case; just swaping the power supply. Would an ATX's slot align with the case? Those plastic spacer or motherboard holder's holes fits? It seems I cant get any decently new motherboard in baby-at form anymore.

Thanks folks.

I wanted to do the same thing. But most of the guys on different forums have pretty much talked me out of it. I have a Matsonic AT board that has an old bios that supports only 8.4 gb HDs. I use it for a lot of stuff, but I am stuck with the HD size limits. And I am short on PCI slots for a controller card that would permit big HDs.

So I am going to go ahead and get an ATX board (KK266) and new case.... I will probably keep the Matsonic as a file server. If it is no longer my primary computer, I can get read of some PCI stuff and add a controller card.

Good Luck. I will watch your progress though.
