i installed 256 mb. ram to existing 64mb. when i turn on computer
it goes thru memory test 3 times,instead of 1 time.why is this happening?

You need to enable the option the BIOS called something like Quick Power On Test. The name may differ slightly depending on the BIOS...

Even if the test is repeated ,there's no problem in that. Actually,when counting the memory you can press escape to end this test or it will end after counting them three times or whatever. Did the system recognize the new memory?

NDC is right. Turn on the option "Quick Power On Self Test" in your BIOS.
