I have a problem with a custom built system that incorperates the AMD Duron 800 processor. The problem with the custom built system is with the processor, and i found this out by swapping out the processor with a an I-Systems processor of the same class (Duron 800). The problem was evidently a bad CPU, and the I-systems computer belongs to a friend of mine. I swapped the processors back because i just wanted to check the situation and give him back his computer. When i turn on the PC now it beeps and i don't know why? It worked perfectly before and i changed no settings between the two times. I have a fairly static free environment and i am positive that the processor is good (i swapped it back to check and see if it resulted from a case of ESD in the swap out process). I looked through the manual that came with the I-systems PC and it didn't clue me in on beep codes... I'm not sure what bios the computer is running but i know it has fan speed and cpu temp ETC.

i tried to reseat the processor and ram already... I know I-Systems are difficult to locate i got their tech support line from tiger direct earlier today but they don't seem to answer their telephone they just let the machine pick up. It keeps on beeping every 5 seconds or so... What kind of problem could this indicate? I don't know where a standard beep chart would be located, but i have seen one a while back....

First of all, return the RAM to its place. If you didnt touch it , it shouldnt beep because of RAM. Probably you're inserting the CPU wrong way, ensure wich side you plug the CPU and check that it plagged properly, if you return your old parts to their old places it should work, try to plug all parts well , check that none of the CPU pins been accidently broken, or there might be tiny piece of dust thy CPU cannot be accessed try blow on the Slot.
