The Win98 drivers should work. Find the BASE2.CAB file on your hard drive and Browse to that folder when setup asks.
the BASE2.CAB isa zip file

It is not a Zip file. It is a CAB (cabinet) file, but can be opened with WinZip.
What I said was to find it. I didn't ask you to open it. Note the folder that it is inside of. That is the folder that you must browse to when you are asked for the WinME disk, OK?
Remove the NIC in Device Manager and restart. When you are prompted for the Windows CD, Browse to that folder and click OK. You may have to type the entire path to that folder. Those are your Windows Setup files.
