The question is how about the XP. Is it going to continue. Are they going to .13 fab. Are they gonna keep going faster on the XP? Are they gonna try to keep it the mainstreem chip? Time will only tell. lildude 04-01-2002, 06:53 PM the new .13 micron xp's (thoroughbred) will still use the socket 462 (socket A) because they are only changing the size of the cpu core. everything else will be the same. NDD 04-01-2002, 08:45 PM Somebody quotes my old posts :) lildude 04-01-2002, 08:57 PM cuz ND is just that kool NDD 04-02-2002, 08:31 PM I'm not k00l I'm just old :) dna_level_c7 04-03-2002, 02:46 AM hahaha.....:D Bogg 04-03-2002, 06:32 PM 940 pins :) Hmms, that's many pins, why not just round them up to 1000 :) just to get nice numbers :) NDD 04-03-2002, 06:46 PM Actually, those 940 pins there are for built-in three HyperTransport buses and dual-channel DDR SDRAM memory controller  lildude 04-03-2002, 06:50 PM so then wut about the socket 754 for the clawhammer? will it only have like one HyperTransport bus or whatever? NDD 04-03-2002, 09:20 PM Small update :) Both ClawHammer (Socket 754) and SledgeHammer (Socket 940) probably have two HyperTransport buses integrated, but SledgeHammer has dual-channel 64bit DDR SDRAM controller while ClawHammer has single-channel 64bit DDR SDRAM controller. Bogg 04-04-2002, 05:18 AM Are we talking SPEED here or is it just me? :) Hey, i can't wait until they come out, Wroooom :) SysOpt.com
