DMA

Hi People
I would like to know what DMA is i have just built my first computer and on messing around in the devise manager i see there is a enable DMA . so like me i checked it, restated the computer everything seems the same exept when i bench mark in 3D 2001 i get an extra 270 points. ok sounds good to me. but am i doing any harm to my computer i don't know about.

Did you enable DMA for harddisk ? In this case, you should indeed see some performance boost, 3DMark2001 might also enjoy it, despite being primarily 3D-subsystem benchmark ...
And it causes no harm, don't worry :)
