I was going to get a Asus A7V motherboard which supports Socket A Athlons. When I was looking through the available Athlons I noticed that that ther are Slot A and Socket A Athlons. What is the difference and which one peforms best ? Thanks.

Thanks. One more query - the Slote A 800mhz Athlon has 512kb L2 cache while the Socket A appears to only have 256kb L2 cache. Does this not mean the Slot A is better ?

If i am correct, Slot k7's have L2 cache running at a fraction of the actual clock speed, but the socket k7's have cache running at full speed.
