I have been going around stores looking at T'Birds. I've found that all of them has stickers saying "Warranty void if removed" placed where the L1 bridges are. Once I remove the sticker to overclock the CPU, I would assume that the sticker would leave a sticky residue, possibly making O/C it difficult. How do I go about cleaning this stuff off in a safe manner for my CPU (once I get it)?

I think rubbing alcohol should work, but don't use alot, just a small dab of it on a qtip maybe.

Place the CPU in a warm place, maybe the sun for a while.

Then get a hair dryer and heat the sticker for a minute or so.

Use a exacto knife or razor blade to peel the sticker off, place the sticker on some wax paper and store.

Use lacquer thinner or some non-oily fingernail polish remover(acetone) to remove glue..

seriously, we do remove factory stickers on gaskets and such when they are on a operational area..

I wouldn't have to worry about putting it in a warm place Richard_Cranium72. It'll still be nice and hot here by the time I buy it around January. Doesn't sound like too much trouble, since most of the stuff I need, they're already around the house.

Thanks for the advice ppl's!!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif
