Im running AMD ATHLON XP on an ABIT KR7A-133 RAID mobo. Got 256MB of Ebuyer's DDR RAM. I'm cooling my cpu with a coolermaster hs/f that goes upto 2ghz, so its fine running at 42C.
I'm using a Maxtor 10GB ATA66 hdd for my master (got all my installed stuff on) and a Maxtor 120GB ATA133 hdd for my slave (got all my stored stuff on it). Im cooling the 10 gig one with frontal air intakes.
Also using an ATI Radeon 7000, 32 MB DDR.

Sounds like a nice little system don't it.........

Well its great for a couple of hours, but then if i leave it idle say overnight, everytime I wake up and check on my download...... it crashed about half way through.
I get nothing, if i move the mouse to turn the hard disk's back on and alert the system, i get nothing. If i press any keys, still get nothing and my monitor tells me to check my connection to the PC cos its getting no signal......it aint the connection because the hdd led dont come on when i move the mouse like it should.

I'm thinking its my Radeon 7000 because the drivers dont like installing and everything else is fine, it also feels hot, my RAM doesn't, but the RAM on my Video card is very warm. Or could it be my ata66 hdd ? Too slow for system ?

Go into the bios and disable all power management options.

Then go to Power Options in the control panel.
Power schemes to always on.
Turn off monitor to never.
Turn off HardDisk to never.
System Standby to never.

Run it like this for a while and see how it goes.
Then start enabling them again one at a time and run it for a while before enabling the next one.

Why bother going in to the BIOS when you can do that in windows?

Yep...turn off standy-by mode stuff, like Speedo says..(through windows or whichever).
Its pretty hard to get a download done with the computer in sleep mode!!!

I took out my Radeon, took it back to the shop and put my old PCI 4MB graphix card in, it came with my 486

Now its running fine, hasn't locked up in 2 whole days.

BTW, I'm gettin an Abit Geforce3 Ti200 64MB DDR card ontuesday, i've heard it can be OC'd 30%.

Your Radeon have not any fan, I guess?
Install one, and that's all.
