I used to use Inoculate IT, but they must have gone under cause there are no more upgrades. Anyone know of a decent so called "free" antivirus?

WyreTheWolf 04-08-2002, 08:22 AM I agree with BiPolarBill... AVG even out performed Norton, and McAfee! and it is FREE! Great software, and great price... hard to beat that deal. arkie 04-09-2002, 10:35 AM AVG is great, have used it a couple years.:) shark_megabyte 04-10-2002, 02:00 PM The new online update features in some AVs are great. You can buy an old full-version AV out of a $1 bargain bin, then download all the updates and you effectively have the newer, spiffier version that the same software store is probably selling for $50 :D iconoclastic 04-14-2002, 10:48 PM Originally posted by RLT65 I used to use Inoculate IT, but they must have gone under cause there are no more upgrades. RT inoculate will be ending its free update service this month AVG is an exceptional software package and it ran fast on win2K a good move when looking for anything is to start at www.google.com and start with the broadest description and then reduce it to your final need like this antiivrus windows freeware and then this is what you get http://www.google.com/search?site=swr&hl=en&safe=images&q=antivirus+windows&as_q=freeware 65,000 hits take your pick bushmaster 04-14-2002, 11:13 PM Been ever so happy with avg. It's picked up virii on friends puters that both norton and wacafee have fallen short of. Funny thing is avg is free and it works better than the ones that cost ya out of pocket.
