I was just wondering what type of pay you can expect from being A+ certified... I have been messing around with computers for about 2-3 years I built my owen and can do quite a bit..but I know I am lacking. So I went ahead and signed up to take a A+ course.

I'm really not wanting to get into repairing them, I'm more after computer graphic and design..but I figure it would be easier to get a job in the computer field if I at lest have the A+. what do you guys think?

A+ is a good start, the company I am working for now requires it. Plus, the knowledge you will get is handy for solving a myriad of annyoing computer problems. Never hurts to increase your knowledge, but I would not expect a big payday from this test alone. Start here, then either go the MCSE route or learn some Unix/Cisco. My 2 pesos.

I too will 2nd what Wyvrn has stated. The A+ is a good place to start but it not the "cash cow" that a MCSE or CNE would be too you.

I have first hand experience with this. I got my A+ and got a raise in pay and a promotion into a 3rd software support team.

A few months later I got my MCSE and got promoted to a higher level systems engineer position. A+ is definitely where you start though - with a lot of companies, possessing that certification will get you hired, and you'll have your foot in the door! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

yea that's what I'm after just to get the foot in the door...so I figure its a good place to start...actually I want to get into computer graphics and design...I'm not really after the techy stuff, but I still figure it would be good to have it. I figure with the A+ I can get some lacky http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif job while I'm going to school 4 graphic design
