I bought the battlechest the other day and im enjoying the game but i was just playing and i died when i respawed i lost all my money, weapons and armor, wtf is that all about that armor was hard to find, not to mention the money it cost. Is this a normal part or diablo or is there a way around this?

I was playing Diablo 2 wit my frens. We was all chronic and battle freakin and my dad came in and unplugged my computer right when I was about to blow my fren away! I was like "Whas up!" and he was like "No more computer for you." I was totally pissed! When he went to bed I got back online and my fren had totally blown me away and stole all my armor and weapons. Everytime I tried to respawn my fren just totally stood there and hacked me up.

I love diablo2 and am on my 3 trip through the game...the trick with not losing all your stuff is to make sure when you know it is going to get difficult or whatever, you open a warp so if you die, you can whip through there and grab your stuff...I do it all the time...:D

Wait a sec...are you playing through Bnet? If you die, you can just Save And Exit, cruise back into the created game, and your body (with all your items) will be in town.

I know how you feel spidey_joe80. I've been there so many times, its not funny. Just hang in there. Sometimes it helps to take a breather for day or two before jumping back in. On Hell difficulty, its extremely tough going. If you can grab a couple of friends to adventure with, it always help. They can run interference for you while you sneak in and grab your equipment off of your corpse.

i am playing the single player story. It just doesnt make any sense that one death will lose you all items. I was gonna start a new game since i was on the first act but i dont wanna imagine if this happens later on. I will try to ind my body before i restart.

If you die with a warp open, you will start with zero equipment but you can just jump through the warp and your body will be on the ground where you died, you just yoink it and you are back in happy land. It is way better doing it this way than having to save and exit cause then you dont lose your spot in the game...I do this whenever I am fighting anyone hard cause I just assume I will likely die at some point and there is no way i am doing a whole section again...

When playing single player .. just put some replacement armor and a weapon in your chest.. so that if u forget to open that warp and monsters kill u .. u will have some stuff to wear
u can do this when playing on the Bnet too..

I think i just lost it all. Words cant express my pain or anger. Il tell you one thing if the guy who made that decision was here right now id poke him in the eye with a fork NO LIE! this is so horrible i dont even know what to do.

I am a long time diablo 1,2 and exp set player. The game is great youll figure it out. Just make sure you always have gold on you. also if you are playing on bnet you can learn alot from other players there ..although there are some thieves so.. if something sounds to good to be true thats because IT IS! Never trust anyone thats says "its free!!" Use town portals whenever you think things may get tough.... set one out then if you die just waltz back in and get yur booty.

Shouldn't happen like that. If you die your corpse stays where you fell. Each time you die after that (prior to finding your body) you drop everything as items onto the floor, leaving you body (with all the good items) where you died originally.
The trick it to use a character that doesn't need armour or weapons to be decent. At a high enough level all characters are capable of this (except for the barbarian!)
Which character are you cause then I can offer some suggestions?

When the original Diablo came out, it was awesome as compared to what was available. Included multiplayer mode made the game much more enjoyable with a group of friends. Unfortunately, there's always the few who want the best items, best weapons, best armor and so hacking became an issue. I think it literally ruined the fun of grouping on Bnet. Diablo II Bnet has improved the experience, but there are still issues.

It's been a while since I played, but when you die, doesn't your body stay there with the loot until you exit the game? I seem to remember loosing a few things that way. I would also drop Items next to my chest if it was full if I thought I would need it at some point. But again, they would be gone if I didn't put them on my person or in the chest before I exit. That's just what I noticed on single player. Havn't played multi yet.
Good luck and Keep on gamin!

Heh, you're not the only one who has a lot of **** newbie2building. It starts off innocently at first on bnet. You make your one character you want to group with and build up. As you gain in skill and character levels, you begin accumulating. You begin saying things like "Holy smokes! I just popped the unique Wormskull, but I don't have a necromancer! Guess I'll start another character...and it keeps going from there. Before you know it, you have a bunch of mules to stash items away for other characters. :D All the different possibilities for armor, weapons and rings give Diablo II one of its main selling points. The first time dying sucks, but it happens to the best of them. Dying really becomes annoying in Nightmare and Hell difficulties because you begin to lose experience as well, not on normal mode though.
